Ohio State Buckeyes Football Betting Guide
Since 1922 the Ohio State Buckeyes have played their home games in the appropriately named Ohio Stadium in Columbus. Boasting 7 National Championships and 13 conference titles, the Buckeyes also own 10 undefeated seasons and play in the Big Ten. Football was introduced to the school in 1890, and the most famous and popular Buckeyes head coach is undoubtedly Wayne Woodrow "Woody" Hayes. He coached Ohio State from 1951 to 1978. He was dismissed after punching Clemson nose guard Charlie Bauman in the throat on the sidelines during a game. Bauman had just intercepted QB Art Schlichter's pass late in a Gator Bowl contest.
Shenanigans like that have calmed down under HC Urban Meyer, who retired as head coach of the Florida Gators in 2010. The Buckeyes are consistently a top 25 ranked college football team and always covered in the Ohio football betting lines. This page is dedicated to covering the Buckeyes NCAAF action, and includes status updates for the season, the team's 2014-2015 schedule, and even some entertaining trivia on the team. We have included a similar guide for betting on the Cincinnati Bengals football team.

Ohio State Buckeyes in 2014-2015
Ohio State opened their 2014 campaign having lost starting quarterback Braxton Miller for the season, leaving fans in Columbus nervous about their championship prospects as the season began. The Buckeyes first game against Navy was won handily, 35-21. However, week two affirmed every Ohio State fans biggest fear as back-up Quarterback J.T. Barrett was sacked several times and threw 3 huge interceptions, including one returned 63 yards for a touchdown late as Ohio State attempted to tie the score. Ohio State lost 35-21 and it appeared the loss of Braxton Miller would keep the Buckeyes out of the Championship picture.
The rest of the Ohio State football season, however, was nothing short of remarkable. The Buckeyes won their two remaining non-conference games against Kent State and Cincinnati by a combined score of 116-28. In Big 10 Conference play, Ohio State score 40 or more points in six of their eight regular season conference games with drubbings of Maryland, Rutgers, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Michigan State. The Buckeyes faced a difficult challenge in Happy Valley as it took two overtime periods to defeat Penn State in Happy Valley, 31-24.
At the end of the regular season, it looked as if Ohio State would miss out on clenching a top four seed in the first ever NCAA Playoff. However, a resounding 59-0 win against Wisconsin the in the Big 10 Championship game vaulted Ohio State into the playoffs, pitting Ohio State against #1 Alabama in the first round. The Buckeyes continued their incredible play and defeated Alabama 42-35 as 3rd string Quarterback Cardale Jones was thrust into action after a Barrett injury. Jones led Ohio State to the Championship against Oregon and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, where the Buckeyes defeated the Ducks 42-20 to claim the first College Football National Championship.

Ohio State Buckeye College Football Trivia
Think you know your Buckeyes? Well did you know that:
• Ohio State tailback Keith Byars had the 1984 Heisman Trophy all but won, before a diminutive quarterback completed one of the most memorable college football plays of all time. Boston College QB Doug Flutie completed a miracle Hail Mary pass to wide receiver Gerard Phelan to beat the University of Miami, and many Heisman voters later said that single play gave Flutie the edge for the Heisman in their eyes.
• Legendary Ohio State tailback Eddie George rushed for a school record 314 yards in a single game against Illinois in 1995. That was also one of the only nighttime Ohio Stadium football games ever played.
• Notre Dame coaching giant Lou Holtz was actually an Ohio State assistant coach early in his career. He went on to lead his team to victory in the 2001 outback bowl against Ohio State, 21 - 7 as head coach of the South Carolina gamecocks.
• Ohio State QB Art Schlicter set the Buckeyes single-game passing yardage record with 458 yards against Florida State in 1981.
• The OSU marching band, named The Best Damn Band In The Land, is ranked as one of the biggest all brass and percussion bands in the world.
• "La Regiment" is a French song performed during Script Ohio, when The Best Damn Band In The Land spells Ohio on the field, famously "dotting the i". But archrival Michigan was the first college football team to perform it.
